Surrounded by the of golf since youth, Steve Smyers is both an accomplished player and a well-traveled student of the great golf courses of the world. As a player, Smyers was a member of the University of Florida's national NCAA championship team in 1973.
Along with his deep appreciation for the history and traditions of the game, Smyers’ well-conceived design philosophy has been greatly influenced by the legendary architects of the 1920s and’30s – the Golden Era of golf course design. During his career, Steve has worked extensively projects throughout the U.S. and in various countries around the world including Australia, the Philippines, South Africa, England, Portugual and Ireland. Also, he has designed courses for daily fee, resort and residential clients, as well as private golf clubs.Blessed with vision, creativity, and imagination, Smyers has the flair of an artist along with an uncanny ability to produce variety and drama in his designs.
In addition, Steve has the personality and communication skills to effectively express his ideas to his clients and the media. His broad knowledge of the game and love for his work make him an outstanding communicator. Steve's professional goal is to personally provide the highest level of excellence and service to each client, and to design golf courses that challenge, excite and reward golfers of all skill levels.
